The Project has three major components. Component-1 will include implementing the safeguard requirements. Component-2 includes implementing the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP). Component-3 includes a route survey.
In this connection Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) has taken initiative to develop Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs)/Social Management Plans (SMPs) through the implementation of the “Dhaka and Western Zone Transmission Grid Expansion Project (DWZTGEP)” Project under component-1 & 2 for management of involuntary resettlement arising out of the acquisition of private land and resume of public land from private users. PGCB intends to engage an experienced NGO to act as Service Provider for technical and professional services for implementation of the (i) RAPs and any Abbreviated Resettlement Action Plan (ARAP)/Social Management Plans (SMPs) including (i) Rehabilitation and Restoration (R&R) (ii) assistance for alternative crop/income (iii) identify and select vulnerable household/person affected by the project (iv)monitor, guide and assist of compensation. Engagement with local communities on the project is considered integral to the successful implementation of the project’s components.
